Sportsman Duo Taking Advantage of South Florida Gaming

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic football duo of Reid Mikeska and Garrison Smith came to Paradise from Texas and Ohio, respectively, as avid hunters and fishermen.
The duo, who have seen action in each of the team's eight games, joined the Owls in January and by summer, the two were seeking out opportunities to explore their hobbies in a new environment.
Mikeska, a redshirt sophomore tight end from Cypress, Texas, had previously hunted racoon, opossum, and deer. He can now add alligator to that list. Smith, a redshirt senior kicker from Norwalk, Ohio, came south after enjoying freshwater fishing. He has now been shark fishing in the keys and lists a Blue Tuna or a Marlin as fish he would love to battle.
