MILWAUKEE -- For the second consecutive season, Florida Atlantic baseball alum Pat Murphy has been named the NL Manager of the Year, Major League Baseball announced on Tuesday. Murphy was a key piece in the first two seasons of FAU Baseball in 1981 and '82.
Murphy has now led the Milwaukee Brewers to back-to-back NL Central Division titles while racking up nearly 200 wins in his two seasons at the helm. In 2025, the Brewers finished with the best record in all of baseball.
The Syracuse, New York native was inducted into the FAU Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008.
QUOTABLE
"I think it's a statement for the Milwaukee Brewers, from ownership to the ivory tower to our coaching staff," Murphy said. "It's an organizational award, and I'm very pleased to be part of this organization. I think one of the great accolades you can get paid is that there is a brand that you think about when you think about the Milwaukee Brewers. There's a way they play the game and a certain level that everyone's held to, and they want to please each other."
"I am so happy for Pat," noted Florida Atlantic head coach
John McCormack. "That award is well-earned and deserved. He has done a fantastic job getting his guys ready to play every day. Very proud that he is an Owl."
