DORAL, Fla. – Day one of the TYR Fall Classic is in the books for the Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams with seven event victories for the Owls on Friday afternoon.
After one day in the books, both the Owls men's and women's teams are sitting in the top three with Saturday still to go. Thus far, the men have tallied 258 points with the women scoring 219.

QUICK HITS
Men
- The Owls picked up right where they left off from their strong season opener, racking up event victories in the 400 medley relay to start the day, swimming to a winning time of 3:19.42.
- Daniel Laureyssens continued his winning ways, picking up a victory in the 200 free for the second straight week (1:38.52).
- Sophomore James Shevchenko tallied another event win for the second straight meet, winning the 400 IM in 4:07.33.
- Leyton Roe added a second individual event win to his season, again in the 50 free (20.82).
- On the diving board, junior Trevor Kuhn picked up his first win of the season, victorious in the 3mtr diving with a total score of 332.65.
- To close day one, the team of Roe, Noah Reeves, John Reese Taylor, and Laureyssens won the 200 free relay in a time of 1:21.72.
Women
- Day one for the women's team started with a third-place finish in the 400 medley relay. The relay team of Megan Drover-Smith, Maja Piotrowicz, Bella Answeeney, and Ludo Pavia finished in a time of 3:54.10.
- Bilú Bianchi swam to victory in the 100 breast, winning in a time of 1:02.51.
- Presley Staretz earned a runner-up finish in the 200 free (1:53.67)
- Talitha McEwan finished third in the 400 IM (4:33.77)
- Pavia continued her strong day with another third place finish, this time in the 50 free (23.67)
- Drover-Smith also finished third in the 100 back (58.85)
- Augusta Ness in the 1mtr diving totaled a score of 209.50 for a third-place finish
- In the 200 free relay, the Owls finished third (1:34.63) to close out day one.

The Owls will return to the Doral Aquatic Center for day two of the TYR Fall Classic, beginning at 10 a.m.
