Owls Travel to Face 49ers Before Hosting North Texas

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Florida Atlantic's women's soccer team will go on the road to face Charlotte in a midweek matchup on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. On Sunday, the Owls return to Boca Raton for the last home game of the season to host North Texas on Senior Day, Sunday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. on ESPN+.

Thursday's matchup marks the 14th time that the Owls (4-9-3, 1-4-2) and the 49ers (7-5-2, 3-2-2) have met. Kickoff for the match is set for 7 p.m. On Sunday, FAU's matchup against the Mean Green (5-9-3, 1-4-2) will be the 20th in program history. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to secure a player card, available while supplies last, and to watch 10 seniors be honored in a pregame ceremony. All home games at the FAU Soccer Stadium are free admission.

ABOUT THE OWLS

Head Coach Patrick Baker is in his 13th season at the helm of the Owls. Baker is one of the top 40 winningest active Division I women's soccer head coaches.
The Owls enter their third season in the American Conference.
Defender Daniella Diaz, midfielder Morgan McDonald, and forward Michelle Horan were named the Owls' three players to watch by the American.
FAU has 12 newcomers on the roster in 2025.
Graduate student Sloane Young leads the team in goals with seven.
Horan leads the Owls with seven assists on the year to improve her career total to 14. She is No. 34 in the nation and second in the American.
Hailey Santiago has five goals on the year and leads the Owls with 25 shots.
Young has been named American Honorable Mention twice this season (September 1 and September 29).
In conference play, Madison Micioni leads with three goals thus far.
Ten seniors (Diaz, McDonald, Kayla Siddiqi, Young, Simone Rivard-Roberts, Horan, Micioni, Megan Hogate, Stella Rubidoux, and Leila Etemadi) will walk in the pregame ceremony on Sunday afternoon.

ABOUT THE 49ERS

Sinead Byrne is in her first year at the helm for Charlotte.
The 49ers were just in the state of Florida as they took on South Florida and fell 2-1 in Tampa.
Megan Bradley leads Charlotte with six goals on the season.
The Niners are ranked No. 5 in the American standings.
Charlotte holds a 3-2-1 record at home.

ABOUT THE MEAN GREEN

Head Coach John Hedlund is in his 31st year at the helm for North Texas.
Before traveling to Boca Raton, they will face the Bulls on Thursday, Oct. 23.
Rachel Roebuck leads the Mean Green with eight goals on the season.
North Texas is tied for No. 9 with FAU in the American rankings.
In Boca Raton, the Mean Green hold a 4-3-1 record.

SERIES HISTORY

The Owls lead the series against Charlotte 8-2-3. The last matchup was in Boca Raton in 2024, where the Owls won 2-1.
FAU is on a four-game winning streak against Charlotte.
UNT leads the series against the Owls 13-5-1.
Last matchup between Florida Atlantic and North Texas was in Denton, Texas, on September 12, 2024, where the Owls fell 1-0.
