22nd-Ranked Owls Set for Showdown with Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – No. 22 Florida Atlantic men's soccer (9-2, 4-0) travels to North Carolina on Friday night for a pivotal American Conference matchup with Charlotte (6-3-2, 3-0-1). Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+. The first-place Owls have a two-point edge over the 49ers in the league standings with just four matches remaining in the regular season.

ABOUT THE OWLS

After a five-week hiatus, the Owls are back in the United Soccer Coaches' Top 25, coming in at No. 22 in the week eight poll.
Sunday's win over Memphis was the Owls' fifth straight, matching their longest winning streak since 2017.
Alfred Mikkelsen has five solo clean sheets this season. He needs one more to tie the single-season program record set by Phillip Lamarre in 2006 and 2007.
Mamadou Diarra and Aboubacar Traore have combined for 21 goals and 28 assists (70 points) in 27 games dating back to the start of the 2024 season.

ABOUT THE 49ers

Charlotte is on a four-match unbeaten streak.
The 49ers shut out UAB 5-0 on Sunday to remain undefeated in American Conference play (3-0-1).
CLT is the reigning American Conference tournament champion. They lost to NC State in double overtime in the first round of last season's NCAA Tournament.
