2024 NFL Owls - End of Regular Season

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The 2024 NFL regular season has concluded. Eight former Florida Atlantic Owls saw action in the final week as two active players are set to move on to the postseason. Here's a rundown of how each performed during the 18th week as well as their season stats (All gametimes listed below are Eastern):
Active Owls (8)
#0 Azeez Al-Shaair | LB | Houston Texans
- Al-Shaair returned after missing the previous three games and made the start for Houston in their 23-14 victory over the Tennessee Titans. Facing his old team for 25 snaps, he made two tackles in a tune-up for the playoffs.
Season Stats: In 11 games/11 starts, 70 tackles (45 solo, 25 assists), seven tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits, four pass deflections, two sacks, two forced fumbles
Texans' Record: 10-7 (First in AFC South)

#69 Evan Anderson | DT | San Francisco 49ers
- Anderson had a busy afternoon for San Francisco in their season finale, playing 30 snaps on defense and eight on special teams. He logged two tackles as the Niners fell to the Arizona Cardinals by a score of 47-24.
Season Stats: In 12 games/one start, 24 tackles (13 solo, 11 assists), two tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery
49ers' Final Record: 6-11 (Fourth in NFC West)
#84 Harrison Bryant | TE | Las Vegas Raiders
- In Las Vegas' final game of the season, Bryant made his third start on the year and played 14 total snaps, 11 on offense and three on special teams. The Raiders were defeated by the Los Angeles Chargers, 34-20.
Season Stats: In 13 games/three starts, nine catches for 86 yards (9.6 per catch with a long of 18), five first downs
Raiders' Final Record: 4-13 (Fourth in AFC West)
#43 Matthew Hayball | P | New Orleans Saints
- Hayball's services as a punter were needed three times in New Orleans' 27-19 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Two of them landed inside the 20-yard line, as he finished his rookie campaign leading the NFL with those kinds of punts.
Season Stats: In 17 games, 75 punts for 3,303 yards (44.0 per punt with a long of 64), 41 punts inside the 20-yard line (first in NFL)
Saints' Final Record: 5-12 (Fourth in NFC South)
#91 Trey Hendrickson | DE | Cincinnati Bengals
- Needing a win against their AFC North foe to have a chance at the playoffs, Hendrickson put forth one of the best games of his career to help lead Cincinnati to a 19-14 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Entering the game tied for the NFL lead in sacks, he ended the evening with 3.5 more along with five QB hits. Hendrickson finished the year with 17.5 sacks for the second season in a row, putting him in elite company with Reggie White, J.J. Watt, and Mark Gastineau as the only NFL players to ever do so. For his efforts throughout the season, he has been named to the Pro Bowl team for the fourth consecutive season.
Season Stats: In 17 games/17 starts, 17.5 sacks (led the NFL, ties career high), 46 tackles (33 solo, 13 assists), career high 19 TFLs (tied for second in NFL), career high 36 QB hits (second in NFL), career high six pass deflections, two forced fumbles

#40 Greg Joseph | K | New York Jets
- Joseph made his debut with the Jets in their season finale and had a perfect afternoon. He went three-for-three in his extra point attempts and drilled a field goal in New York's 32-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
Season Stats: In eight games, 16-for-20 on field goals with a long of 52, 11-for-11 on extra points attempts
Jets' Final Record: 5-12 (Third in AFC East)
#42 James Pierre | CB | Pittsburgh Steelers
- Pierre served as a special teams ace in Pittsburgh's regular season finale, playing 18 snaps on the unit. He also added five on defense as the Steelers fell to the Cincinnati Bengals by a score of 19-14.
Season Stats: In 15 games/two starts, 23 tackles (17 solo, six assists), one interception, three PD, two forced fumbles
