Busy Weekend Ahead For The Owls

BOCA RATON Fla. – The Florida Atlantic women's tennis team has a busy weekend ahead. They will travel to Fort Myers, Florida on Friday, Jan. 31, to play Florida Gulf Coast University at 12 pm. They will then return home to host the University of North Florida on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center.
The overall record between Florida Atlantic and Florida Gulf Coast is 9-8 with FAU holding the lead. The last matchup between the two ended in a 5-2 Owls' victory. The record between Florida Atlantic and North Florida is an even 6-6. The Owls won the two team's last matchup by a 4-1 score.
FAU is coming off a successful weekend, earning a 4-0 victory over Minnesota last Sunday. The Owls swept doubles play and took singles play in a clinch format. Seniors Lexi Silna and Millie-Mae Matthews are undefeated in dual match play in singles matches and remain perfect in doubles play. Silna was named AAC Player of the Week on Tuesday, Jan. 21 as well.
The Owls have had an excellent start to their 2025 season with their wins over Big 10 opponent Minnesota and ranked Miami earlier this month.
