GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The
Florida Atlantic women's track & field team closed out the RADD Florida Invitational with a total of ten new program records.
The Owls completed the second and final day on Saturday with strong results at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center.
- The Owls started the morning with Andi VanMeter and Isabel O'Brien setting new program records in the 5000-meter. VanMeter is now listed No. 7 in program history with a time of 17:40.91, while O'Brien is now ranked No. 9.
- Freshman Kayla Hopkins is now tied for No. 9 in the record books after she recorded a 7.64 in the 60-meter dash
- Florida Atlantic had three in the top 10 (Constance Pittet, Jessica Hatch and Elyssa Toal) once again, this time in the 800-meter run.
- Pittet wrote her name in another event in program history in the 800-meter after she registered a 2:12.41
- The last event of the meet was the 4x4, where the Owls had Jada Bolhuis, Adrianna Mier, Sofia Molina, and Rosa ten Berg placed second with a 4:00.72
Florida Atlantic will return to Gainesville for the third time during the indoor season to compete in the Celebration Pointe on Friday, Feb. 7.
