GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The
Florida Atlantic women's track & field team completed the first day of the RADD Florida Invitational with another six new program records.
Friday marked the beginning of the second meet of the season as the Owls traveled back north for the second weekend in a row.
- The Owls started the day with Rosa ten Berg setting another program record. She competed in the 600-meter and registered a 1:32.48 to notch No. 2 in program history.
- Junior Sofia Molina put her name in the record book after her performance on the day in the 600-meter as she is now No. 4 with a 1:34.68
- There was a total of three new records in the 600-meter. Freshman Laura Kuhn also made her mark into the books at No. 7 with a 1:37.53
- Richelle Williams (40.16) and Jada Bolhuis (40.23) placed fourth and fifth out of 16 in the 300 dash
- In the mile, the Owls had four in the top 10 (Jessica Hatch, Constance Pittet, Elyssa Toal, Leah Helms). Hatch placed first in the event with a 4:54.72 to enter her name in the top three of program history
- Pittet and Toal set new program records as they are now ninth and tenth in the record book with times of 4:58.79 and 4:59.21, respectively
- In the 200 dash, Florida Atlantic had Camilla Nicholas, Adriana Lopez, and Kayla Hopkins in the top 10 out of 49
The Owls will stay in Gainesville to compete in day two of the RADD Florida Invitiational starting at 10 a.m.
