BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's swimming and diving team has swept the ASUN swimming & diving weekly honors, announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Trevor Kuhn, for the third time this season and fifth in his career, has been named ASUN Diver of the Week while senior
Peyton Ming has been named the ASUN Swimmer of the Week.
Competing in his senior day meet, Ming helped lead the Owls to victory, recording three first place finishes. The senior from Lake Placid, N.Y. took home first place in the 100 back (49.96), 100 fly (48.46) and was a part of the winning 200 medley relay team.
In the last home meet of the season, Kuhn finished with two top three performances on the diving board. In the 1m diving Kuhn won the event posting a total score of 289.40. He also grabbed third place in the 3m diving with a score of 307.20
This is the first time this season that the Owls have won both swimmer and diver of the week honors in the same week. Earlier this week, the women's team earned a pair of awards from the American Athletic Conference, with
Ludo Pavia winning the AAC Freshman Swimmer of the Week and
Sophia Clack tapped as the Freshman Diver of the Week.
The Owls will get a weekend off before the women head south to face FIU. Hosted by the Panthers on Saturday, Feb. 1, the Owls will face FIU for the second time this year at Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center. Following the one-day competition, both the men and women's teams will gear up for their respective conference championships held Feb. 19-22. The women will travel to Dallas, Texas for the American Athletic Conference Championships while the men will head to Knoxville, Tennessee for the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships.
