BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Florida Atlantic hits the road for the second time this season when the Owls visit Connecticut on Saturday at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in Hartford, Conn. The game kicks at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
Saturday is the just the second all-time football meeting between the Owls and the Huskies, and the first since a 2002.
Florida Atlantic is fresh off a 38-20 victory over FIU last Saturday night in Boca Raton, while UConn returns home after falling at Duke last Saturday, 26-21. Jim Mora, the former head coach at UCLA and in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons, is in his third year as the head coach in Storrs.
The Owls have leaned on their defense this season, thanks in part to the play of true freshman safety CJ Heard, who leads all true freshmen nationally with his 20 total tackles through three games. His two fumble recoveries are tied for national lead among all players.
Last Saturday night at FAU Stadium, the Owls were +5 in turnover margin and scored all five touchdowns on the ground -- three from Zuberi Mobley -- in a 38-20 victory.
