BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's soccer will host the in-state rival FIU on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 7 p.m. and will then embark on the Owls' first road trip of the 2024 season, which will be played at Louisiana on Sunday, Aug. 25th at 1 p.m.
The Owls (0-1-1) enter the home contest versus FIU (1-1-0), having played two matches in front of impressive crowds. The first was versus in-state power UCF in the FAU Football Stadium and the second to Miami ended in a 1-1 draw. In the last six meetings against Miami, the Owls hold a 2-1-3 record, to which three out of the last six have resulted in a draw versus the Canes.
FIU is coming to Paradise following a loss to Oklahoma last week. Although the Panthers led the all-time series 22-13-3, the Owls have won the last two, including a 2-0 decision in Boca Raton in 2022.
Thursday evening's match will be aired on FAUSports.com. All home games at the FAU Soccer Stadium are free admission. Fans attending the match are asked to wear red.
On Sunday, the Owls will face Louisiana (1-0-1) for the ninth time in program history, after formerly sharing a conference affiliation in the Sun Belt Conference. The all-time series stands at 4-4, with the Owls winning last year's match by a 2-1 score in Boca Raton.

ABOUT THE OWLS
- Head Coach Patrick Baker is in his 12th season at the helm for the Owls
- Baker is 16th nationally among active Division I coaches in total number of wins with 349

- Sophomore Olivia Bori scored her first collegiate goal in the 58th minute that allowed the Owls to tie the match in the 1-1 draw against Miami last Sunday
- Graduate goalkeeper Lexi Gonzalez, named one of the two captains, has racked up six saves so far to improve her total to 109. She is ranked No. 10 in program history in all-time saves.
- Junior Stella Rubidoux put the Owls on the board with the first goal of her career in the UCF match
- Junior Michelle Horan provided the equalizer versus the Hurricanes and is the Owls active career leader with six assists (five coming last season)

- The Panthers hold a 1-1-0 record thus far
- This is the 5th season with head coach Jonathan Garbar at the helm for the FIU.
- The Panthers were picked fourth in the CUSA preseason poll
- Reagan Bridges and Noemi Paquin were named CUSA All-Conference

- Louisiana will face Middle Tennessee on Thursday night before facing the Owls
- Head Coach Chris McBride has been at the helm for the Ragin Cajuns for three seasons
