BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's soccer will host the in-state rival FIU on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 7 p.m. and will then embark on the Owls' first road trip of the 2024 season, which will be played at Louisiana on Sunday, Aug. 25th at 1 p.m.
The Owls (0-1-1) enter the home contest versus FIU (1-1-0), having played two matches in front of impressive crowds. The first was versus in-state power UCF in the FAU Football Stadium and the second to Miami ended in a 1-1 draw. In the last six meetings against Miami, the Owls hold a 2-1-3 record, to which three out of the last six have resulted in a draw versus the Canes.
FIU is coming to Paradise following a loss to Oklahoma last week. Although the Panthers led the all-time series 22-13-3, the Owls have won the last two, including a 2-0 decision in Boca Raton in 2022.
Thursday evening's match will be aired on FAUSports.com. All home games at the FAU Soccer Stadium are free admission. Fans attending the match are asked to wear red.
On Sunday, the Owls will face Louisiana (1-0-1) for the ninth time in program history, after formerly sharing a conference affiliation in the Sun Belt Conference. The all-time series stands at 4-4, with the Owls winning last year's match by a 2-1 score in Boca Raton.
