BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's tennis team concluded the 2023-24 season, their first in the American Athletic Conference, with a 16-7 record and a No. 45 national ranking.
No. 45 is the highest final ranking the men's team has achieved. It is the fifth consecutive year the Owls have found themselves among the nation's best and the sixth time in the last seven years.
Alberto Colas became the first Owl to be named to the AAC All-Conference team after posting a 13-5 record, playing every match on court #1. His efforts were instrumental in not only the team's national ranking but in a AAC championship quarterfinal finish.
The Owls' court work was outstanding, but they matched that effort in the classroom as well with a 3.61 grade point average, which was the highest spring GPA of any Florida Atlantic men's team.
The Owls will return five from the 2023-24 squad and will welcome four to a team built with the goal of an AAC Championship in mind.
