BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's tennis team, ranked No. 46 nationally, won the big points in Thursday evening's match versus the visiting East Tennessee to capture the match 5-2.
The match was the first outing for the Owls in 10 days and it came down to the narrowest of margins. FAU captured each doubles court in the best-of-three match with

Holding the 1-0 lead over ET, the Owls moved to singles play.
Jiri Jenicek was the first Owl to come off the courts with a win to put FAU up 2-1 and
John Bernard quickly followed on court #5 for a 3-1 Owl lead. The match was clinched by freshman
Kurt Miller, who won court #6 by a 6-2, 7-5 score. The two teams elected to play it out on each of the singles courts, giving time for
Juan Martin Jalif to capture court #3 by a 7-5, 6-4 score and a 5-2 victory.
With the win, Florida Atlantic moves to 12-4 while East Tennessee falls to 4-9.
