BOCA RATON, Fla. – Doubles play and three singles victories propelled Florida Atlantic to a 4-0 victory over North Florida on Friday afternoon. With the win, the Owls improved to 10-3 on the year.

John Bernard / Simon Myslivec made quick work on doubles court #3 with a 6-0 victory. Attention turned to courts #1 and #2 where the matches were battling back and forth for the lead. The Osprey took court #1 with court #2 sitting at 5-5. Alberto Colas / Juan Martin Jalif would ultimately take the court #2 match and give FAU the coveted doubles point and the match's momentum.

FAU newcomer Kurt Miller seized the momentum with a 6-2, 6-1 win on court #6. Alberto Colas captured court #1 to put the Owls up 3-0. Bernard was up on court #4 by a 6-2, 4-1 score when his opponent retired, clinching the match for the Owls at 4-0.

"Today was a very good win against a very strong UNF team. We knew they were coming after us and our boys were ready for it.

Our #3 doubles team of JB (John Bernard) and Simon (Myslivec) started off with a strong performance. They were present and had awesome energy. While we didn't play our best doubles at #1 and #2, we managed to win 1-out-of-2 to get the doubles point and this is what it is all about: finding ways to win when you are not at your best.

In singles play, I was impressed with Kurt (Miller), Alberto (Colas), and JB (John Bernard). We always talk about getting off the court quick by staying focused and disciplined, and they 100% executed with this.

This match is great preparation for our next two challenges in California."
