No. 15 Florida Atlantic set for UAB Beach Classic

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The 15th-ranked Florida Atlantic beach volleyball team (2-2) heads to Birmingham, Alabama this weekend to compete in the UAB Beach Classic on Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3 at the UAB Beach Courts.
Along with the Sandy Owls, the tournament field features, UT Martin, EKU, and Conference USA opponents UTEP and host UAB. UT Martin earned a back-to-back appearance in the NCAA Championship Tournament last season.
Florida Atlantic opens the weekend on Saturday, March 2 against the UT Martin Skyhawks for an 11 a.m. first serve, before closing out the opening day at 5 p.m. against host UAB. The Sandy Owls are 1-0 all-time against UT Martin, earning a 5-0 sweep on March 6, 2020, in their sole matchup, and are 9-1 all-time against UAB, winning nine-straight meetings, including a 5-0 sweep in their last meeting during the 2023 CUSA Championship Tournament.
The Sandy Owls will then face off against UTEP at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 3, before closing out the weekend against EKU at 1 p.m. This weekend will mark the first all-time meeting between the Sandy Owls and the UTEP Miners and the EKU Colonels.
Robes Law Group is the presenting sponsor of Florida Atlantic beach volleyball for the 2024 season.
