TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida Atlantic's men's and women's cross country teams competed in the 2024 NCAA South Regionals in Tallahassee on Friday morning.Â
For the second time this season, the Owls made a trip to Apalachee Regional Park. The women ran a 6K to start the morning, finishing in 18th place out of 31 teams on the day. The women accomplished their best finish since 2010. On the men's side, they finished 25th on the morning after running a 10K.Â

Jessica Hatch,
Leah Helms,
Isabel O'Brien,
Constance Pittet,
Elyssa Toal, and
Andi VanMeter competed for the Florida Atlantic women. Pittet came in first for the Owls as she placed 47th overall. Pittet is now second in the 6K in program history, setting a new mark after four years. On the men's side,
Noah Curfman,
Joseph Garcia,
Paul Glick,
Samuel Henery,
Donovan Petty, and
Enrique Toro ran for the Owls, finishing the day with 800 points.Â
WomenÂ
- Out of 214 runners, Pittet came in first for Florida Atlantic, 47th overall, with a 20:59.8 in her first appearance in an NCAA South Regional
- VanMeter came in second for the Owls as she placed 98th overall on the course with a time of 21:59.0
- With a 22:35.9, Toal was the third runner from Florida Atlantic to cross the finish line
- Hatch registered a time of 22:48.0, finishing 143rd overall
- O'Brien finished 145th overall (22:49.1)
- Groppe (23:11.1) and Helms (23:22.2) came in 170th and 178th place to close out the race of the Owls
MenÂ
- As a team, Florida Atlantic recorded 800Â points on the day
- Henery got it started for the Owls when he was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 34:03.01. He is now ninth in program history in 10K.
- Right behind was Glick with a time of 34:31.6
- Back-to-back were Garcia and Petty in their first appearance in a NCAA South Regional race
- Curfman and Toro crossed the finish line in 176th and 177th place overall
