BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set to host their first home meet of the season at the FAU Aquatic Center on Friday, Oct. 18 against Keiser. The action will begin at 3 p.m. EST.
At last year's home meet against Keiser, the men and women swept the field in a very successful meet. The men took the win 206-88 while the women won 220-60.
The meet will include a raffle for two Winning In Paradise beach towels. Admission to all home events at the FAU Aquatic Center is free.
Florida Atlantic wrapped up a meet at Nova and Barry on Oct. 11.
Men
- The Owls were victorious in the men's 200 medley relay. The team of Peyton Ming, Brett Sasser, Daniel Laureyssens and Logan Thornsberry accumulated a time of 1:33.03
- Timo Paisley had a busy day with a win in the 200 free (1:39.54) and was victorious again in the 100 free in a time of 45.58
- James Shevchenko impressed, winning the 200 fly in a time of 1:52.20
- The Owls also took the win in the 400 free relay thanks to the team of Andrew Billitto, Thornsberry, Laureyssens and Paisley, recording a time of 3:03.35
Women
- Cica Carvalho continued to make waves, winning the 1000 free in a time of 10:25.72
- Talitha McEwan had herself a meet, beginning with a win in the 200 free (1:53.04) followed up with a 500 free win in a time of 5:07.12
- Transfer Aura Vilarrasa had two victories last time out winning the 100 back (58.52) and in the 200 back (2:06.55)
- The highlight of the meet came in the form of an Owls sweep in the 200 fly with Dolores Margni, Carvalho, and Lotta Palsi going one, two, three.
The Owls will host their annual Alumni and Family Meet, homecoming weekend, Saturday, November 2. After that the Owls will get a well-deserved break before heading on the road for the Patriot Invitational hosted by George Mason, Thursday Nov. 21 through Saturday Nov. 23.
