BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's tennis team is set to travel to Athens, Georgia, to compete in the 2024 ITA Men's Southeast Regionals from October 16th through the 20th. Participating teams include the Owls, host Georgia, Florida, and Florida State, to name a few.
The Owls are coming off their first tournament of the season, hosted by UCF and played at the USTA National Training Center. FAU faced the Knights of UCF and the Stetson Hatters. Three Owls debuted at the tournament: Lucas Miremont,
Segundo Goity, and
Marek Pazdera.
Florida Atlantic is led this year by senior
John Bernard, who posted a 17-5 record a year ago, including a 14-3 dual-match record. Graduate
Jiri Jenicek is coming off a 14-8 season, including a 10-7 mark in dual match play. Jenicek also dominated doubles with a 14-5, including an 11-5 dual match doubles record. Sophomore
Simon Myslivec had a strong freshman showing with a 17-7 doubles recording, including a 15-6 record in dual match play.
