GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic women's track & field team concluded a strong meet at the Florida Collegiate Invitational on Saturday.
Building on record-breaking performances on Friday, the Owls recorded multiple top finishes, ultimately ending the meet, their third and final of the season in Gainesville, with a win in the 4x400m relay.
- The Owls saw success from the very first competition, the 800m. Competing in a field of 30 runners, Florida Atlantic earned the second through seventh place finish. They were, in order, Adrianna Mier (2:16.38), Elyssa Toal (2:16.56), Anna Rovirosa (2:16.91), Jordan Stevens (2:17.15), Jessica Hatch (2:19.07), and Casey O'Connor (2:21.87)
- Promise Cross and Keturah Darwon each qualified for the 60m hurdles final. Cross finished in fourth with a time of 8.96
- Abraiya Elam (7.81) and Adriana Lopez (7.86) both nabbed a spot in the 60m final
- Darwon, Mier, Richelle Williams, and Cross earned the meet-ending victory in the 4x400m with a time of 3:53.22
The Owls will enjoy a well-deserved weekend off from competition before heading to Boston for multiple meets: the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday, Feb. 9 and the Eagle Elite Invitational from Feb. 9 – 10.
