CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team hits the road for the first time on Sunday night for a matchup with Miami.

- The Owls are coming off a 2-2 draw with Little Rock in Thursday's season opener
- Elin Simonardottir opened the scoring off a corner kick in the seventh minute
- After the Trojans tied the game in the 25th minute, Simonardottir connected for her second goal of the night just three minutes later
- The Owls 2-1 advantage persisted all the way up until just under 10 minutes remained in the second half
- Little Rock was awarded a penalty for a foul on the edge of the box – they would convert to the tie the match and that's how it finished
- Simonardottir finished with a team-high three shots on goal
- Blythe Braun came on in relief and played the final 65 minutes after starting goalkeeper Lexi Gonzalez left with an injury in the first half
- Miami started its season with a 3-0 victory over Stetson on Thursday
- UM finished 5-8-3 in 2022
- Miami leads the all-time series 10-8-1
- The Owls and Hurricanes played to a 0-0 draw in 2022 Â
- The Owls head to Stillwater, Okla. for a meeting with Oklahoma State on Thursday (8 p.m. EST).
- Florida Atlantic returns home on September 1 to face Texas A&M – Corpus Christi
