OWLS IN REVIEW
The Owls took two of three over the weekend from Louisiana Tech. After a 9-5 victory for the Owls in game one on Friday, LA Tech took game two in 16 innings (a new FAU program record). Sunday featured more bonus baseball with the Owls coming out on top in the bottom of the 10th.Â
WHO'S HOT
On Monday, Robert Wegielnik was named C-USA Pitcher of the Week for the straight week after appearances in both Friday and Saturday's games. He pitched 5.2 innings on Saturday, entering in the top of the eighth and stretching out all the way through the 13th. He hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 14 appearances (a total of 28.2 innings).Â
Nolan Schanuel delivered the walk-off single in Sunday's win and has reached base safely in 47 straight games. He had a home run and five RBIs in the series opener. Schanuel ranks in the top two nationally in on base percentage (1st), batting average (2nd), slugging percentage (2nd), and walks (1st). His 45 career home runs are third all-time, two away from the FAU program record.

THE OPPONENT
FGCU salvaged its weekend series at North Florida by winning Sunday's finale 10-2. The Eagles dropped Friday and Saturday's contests by scores of 9-1 and 11-7. Entering the final weekend of ASUN play, FGCU is second in the conference standings, one game behind Lipscomb.Â
OPPONENT HISTORY
The Owls have won two of three with FGCU this season. The Eagles survived a ninth inning comeback attempt last Tuesday when Florida Atlantic, down 8-7, loaded the bases with no outs in the final frame. Closer L.J. McDonough was able to settle in though and record three straight strikeouts to deny the Owls.Â
UPCOMING
The Owls close out the regular season in Conference USA on Thursday when they travel to UAB. The C-USA postseason tournament begins next week in Houston, Texas. The Owls could still be seeded as high as third or as low as eighth depending on the final weekend results.Â
