PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Multiple lightning delays made for a stop-and-start first round on Thursday at the Conference USA Women's Golf Championships. Fortunately, Florida Atlantic women's golf (308, +20) was one of six teams to complete the round before darkness set in on PGA National Resort and suspended play for the night.
Â
- Clemence Cadeac's opening round 76 (+4, T15) was the Owls' low round on Thursday.
- Blanka Decker is one behind Cadeac in a tie for 17th (+5). Decker provided an early highlight when she holed out from off the green on the par-five sixth for an eagle-three.
- Letizia Bagnoli (+6, T27) struggled to find a rhythm for most of the day but will hope for momentum going into Friday after a birdie at par-five 18th to finish the day.
- Olivia Bergner is tied with Decker in 17th after opening with 77. She circled two birdies on Thursday
