The Florida Atlantic University men's swimming & diving team is racking up major postseason awards.
Â
On Monday afternoon, the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association announced that Florida Atlantic's
Brandon Shepherd has been named men's Diver of the Year for the 2022-23 season.
Â
The sophomore Shepherd dominated the conference in the 2022-23 season, winning five Diver of the Week awards and earning the championship in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive.
Â
While this will be the Fort Myers native's first yearly award, Shepherd has collected eight diver of the week awards in his collegiate career.
Â
Shepherd had strong showings in several meets, including the mid-season Patriot Invitational where he finished in second place on the 3-meter (276.45), helping to lead the Owls to a first place finish on the weekend. At the 2023 CCSA Championships, Shepherd took home the gold in the 1-meter (336.3) and 3-meter dive (300.55).
Â
Florida Atlantic won 10 total weekly CCSA awards during the 2022-23 season and can now add a major yearly award to their impressive list of accolades achieved during the calendar year.
