BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University men's tennis, ranked No. 63 nationally, picked up a 4-0 win over UNC Wilmington on Wednesday afternoon, in the first of a scheduled three matches in three days.

The two teams battled in doubles action, with the Owls edging out the point with a 6-2 win on court two and a 6-4 win on court three. Court one ended unfinished at 6-6, with the possibility of needing the court for the point looming.

Control of the singles matches never wavered. UNCW found themselves in early trouble on each of the six courts. While they fought back on several, the Owls were just too strong to concede the contest. Alberto Colas, playing his first match of the season on court one, put away his match in straight-sets 6-2, 6-1. Kevin Huempfner quickly followed on court two with a 6-4, 6-1 win. The match was clinched by Joao Graca on court four at 6-3, 6-3.
