After falling 5-1 to USF on Friday night, the Owls bounced back with a dramatic 8-7 extra-inning victory on Saturday.
Dom Presto's squeeze bunt with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th scored
Jackson Ross for the walk-off win. Sunday was another thriller as the Owls and Bulls went down to the wire for the series win. Ultimately, the FAU bullpen stood tall holding USF to two runs in the final 5.2 innings.
C.J. Williams worked out of a jam in the top of the ninth to earn his first career save in the 8-6 victory.
Â
- Jackson Ross hit his team-leading fourth home run of the season on Sunday. His .393 average is also tops. Ross is second with 10 RBI.
- John Schroeder also homered on Sunday and finished the series 5-for-11 with five RBI.
- Nolan Schanuel started to heat up on Saturday and Sunday with back-to-back multi-hit games. The Preseason C-USA Player of the Year is hitting .370.
- On the pitching side, the question is who isn't hot? Through seven games, the FAU bullpen has combined to allow just six earned runs in 34 innings.
- Evan Waterbor will make the start for the Owls on Tuesday. The senior allowed one run in four innings in his first career start against UCF last week.
