Owls Break School Record at C-USA Championships

Birmingham, Ala. – The Florida Atlantic University track & field team opened up the two-day 2023 Conference USA indoor championships on Saturday.

The Owls were once again led by Jessica Lambert, who punched a ticket to the 800m finals and contributed to a FAU record in the distance medley relay. The Owls have now set a school record in every meet of the season.

Lambert's remarkable indoor season continued, qualifying for the 800m finals by finishing in first place at the prelims (2:13.15). She still holds the top time for the 800m in the entire conference
Joining Lambert in her success were the rest of the members of the distance medley relay team: Elyssa Toal, Cara Simpson, and Anabell Reumann. For the second meet in a row, they broke the FAU record in the distance medley relay. They finished in third place with a time 11:47.45
Madlen Kappeler made her mark in the 5000m, winning the silver medal. She crushed her previous personal best by almost 30 seconds and recorded the second best time in FAU history in the process
