BOCA RATON, Fla. – The No. 10 Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team (2-0) will host their second home game of the season on Saturday night against Bryant (2-2) for the second annual Boca Raton MegaBowl. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. and aired on ESPN+.
The Owls are flying high at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena where they currently own a 19-game home winning streak. One of these victories came from a win last season against the Bulldogs in the inaugural MegaBowl, with FAU taking down Bryant 85-74 behind
Alijah Martin's 15 points and five rebounds.

In their 2023-24 home opener, the Owls took down Eastern Michigan by 43 points and crossed the century mark in the 100-57 victory. From the opening tip, the shots were falling for Florida Atlantic and they did not stop, with the team shooting 62.5% from the field and 52% from beyond the arc. Junior center Vlad Goldin once again led the team, recording his second straight 19-point outing while senior guards
Brandon Weatherspoon and
Bryan Greenlee combined for 28 points on 10-10 shooting. Ball movement was also on display throughout the game with the Owls recording 25 assists, led by
Nick Boyd's career high with seven.
- The Owls have yet to trail through two games
- Seven players (Tre Carroll, Jalen Gaffney, Goldin, Greenlee, Brenen Lorient, Rosado, Weatherspoon) are shooting over 60% from the field. Weatherspoon has been the top shooter so far, missing only one shot through the first two games (10-11 from the field, 7-8 from three-point range)
- The team's top five scorers against Eastern Michigan: Goldin (19), Brandon Weatherspoon (16), Lorient (13), Rosado (13), and Greenlee (12) shot for a combined 84% from the field (24-37).
- Florida Atlantic currently ranks 12th in the nation in effective field goal percentage (63.8%)
- The Owls have had a massive advantage over their first two opponents when it comes to points from forced turnovers: 48-13
The Owls will hit the road to participate in the eight-team ESPN Events Invitational, to be held at Disney World's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The opening game is set for Florida Atlantic is set for Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, against Butler. Tip-off is at 2:30 p.m.
