CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Florida Atlantic wins the match against the 49ers on Thursday night with a goal from
Molly Setsma. The Owls are now 2-1-1 in conference play.
The Owls maintained focus after the first 45 minutes of a scoreless match and battled until the final minute. Senior
Molly Setsma scored the winning goal for the Owls in the 88th minute of the match, the goal was assisted by
Sofia Voldby (1). Florida Atlantic totaled eight shots in the night with six shots on goal. While the 49ers tallied 21 shots in the match with nine shots on goal. Goalkeeper
Lexi Gonzalez recorded a new career high of nine saves in a match. Another career record was set by Setsma as she now has two goals this season. The Owls jumped to second place in the AAC standings after the win against Charlotte.
The Owls return to Boca Raton, Florida to face SMU in the Pink Out game on Thursday, October 12 at 7 p.m.
