Florida Atlantic Ready for First AAC Championship

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The New Era is about to officially begin for Florida Atlantic University's men's and women's cross country teams.

On Saturday morning, the Owls will compete in their first American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships. The meet will be hosted by East Carolina in Grimesland, North Carolina.

The races will be broadcasted on ESPN+. The men will take on an 8K run, beginning at 9:15 a.m. while the women will run the 6K at 10 a.m.

Jessica Hatch took top spot for the Owls with 14th place finish out of 85 runners (22:29.7)
Elyssa Toal placed in 22nd (22:47.7)
Leah Helms was right behind in 23rd place (22:55.6)
Jordan Stevens completed the trio with a 24th place finish (22:59.7)
Paige Saiz finished in 27th place (23:18.4)

Men (FSU XC Invite)

Paul Glick posted a time of 27:15.7 to lead the Owls
Luke Gaudet followed behind with a time of 27:49.6
Leonardi Lamour recorded a time of 27:50
Samuel Henery finished with a time of 27:58.6

Season Highlights

The Owls opened up their season by hosting their ninth annual FAU Invitational. It was one of their most successful yet, with a fourth place finish out of 18 teams and a sixth place finish out of 16 for the men. Both competing in their first race as an Owl, Toal crossed the finish line in sixth place with a time of 18:22.3 and Glick placed in 24th with a time of 16:32.1
At the ECU Pirate Invitational, the women's team posted their best finish of the year, placing in second out of 10 teams
Jessica Hatch was the top runner for the team in two races, the Mountain Dew Invitational (18:31.12)
The team also impressed with an 11th place finish out of 35 teams at the FSU XC Invite, led by Stevens (18:52.9)
For the men, Paul Glick has been the top finisher for the Owls in all three races

The Owls will conclude their cross country season with the NCAA South Regionals, taking place on Friday, Nov. 10 in Gainesville, Fla.
