Owls Earn Two Spots in AAC Player of the Week Honors

BOCA RATON, Fla – For the second time this season, senior Lexi Gonzalez has been named the American Athletic Conference women's soccer goalkeeper player of the week. Midfielder Sofia Voldby was named one of the top five AAC weekly honor roll for the second time this season.

Gonzalez set a new career high of 11 saves in the match against the Roadrunners and recorded her fourth shutout of the season on Sunday afternoon. The Halmstead, Sweden native scored the winning goal against Rice in the 77th minute of the match. With the win over Rice, the Owls clinched their spot in the 2023 AAC Championship tournament. The last game of the regular season will take place in Tampa, Fla. as they will face the Bulls on Thursday, October 29 at 7:00 pm.
