BOCA RATON, Fla. – Jessica Lambert of the Florida Atlantic University women's track & field team has been named the Conference USA Female Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday. While she is no stranger to conference honors, being placed on all-conference teams and receiving academic awards, this marks the junior's first weekly award as well as Florida Atlantic's first for an indoor athlete since 2021.

Head Coach Alex Smolka
"We're very happy for Jessica. It's very nice for student athletes when their hard work and dedication gets recognized and rewarded. Jessica has put a lot of work in during the fall and it's exciting to see the fruits of her labor! The season has just begun and she still has very lofty goals for the remainder of her indoor and outdoor seasons. The future looks bright!"
Â
Assistant Coach Georgette Nixon
"I'm very proud of the hard work that she puts in every single day. This is well-earned. Jessica is a rising star and I'm looking forward to continuing to work with her!"

Lambert opened the indoor season in a big way at the UAB Blazer and Vulcan Invites, winning the 500m and setting the school record in the process by almost three seconds with a time of 1:14.2. She also finished in fourth place in the 400m (57.47).
Â
For Lambert and the rest of the Florida Atlantic Owls, they will keep moving forward with the RADD Sports Invitational this Thursday, Jan. 19 and Friday, Jan. 20 in Gainesville.
