BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team opened the 2023 season on the west coast of Florida, where they traveled to face Miami University at FGCU, and picked up a 4-3 win.

The Owls captured the doubles courts one and two, earning what proved to be a pivotal point.

QUOTABLE

"I'm proud of the way the ladies managed the tough weather conditions," said Maria Alvarez, FAU's assistant coach. "It wasn't an easy day to be out there, but they found a way to get the win and start the season on a positive note. We will continue to work hard to get ready for our home opening match against UNF."

With a 1-0 lead, three Owls locked up their courts led by senior Martina Kudelova on court one. Returners Amber McGinnis and Millie-Mae Matthews earned the remaining two points needed to send the FAU home with the win.
