BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team travels to West Point, N.Y. on Wednesday to begin a two-game road trip against Army and Marist University.
- The Owls tasted defeat for the first time on Saturday night with a 2-0 shutout against No. 23 Lipscomb
- In total, eight yellow cards and three red cards were handed out in what became an increasingly tense affair in the second half
- Neil Strauber made seven saves in goal and moved into seventh alone in career saves (132)
- The Owls will be making their first trip to the state of New York since 2012 when they fell 1-0 to Buffalo
- Wednesday will be the first matchup in program history against one of the three service academies (Army, Air Force, Navy).
- Strauber enters the road trip ranked 11th in saves (16) among NCAA DI goalkeepers
- Army is 0-2-1 and coming off a defeat at the hands of Cleveland State (4-2) last Friday
- The Black Knights were 8-7-3 last season and lost in penalty kicks in the Patriot League semifinals to top-seeded Loyola Maryland
- Head coach Brian Plotkin is in his second season in charge
- Sophomore Gage Guerra registered five goals and one assist last season – he has a goal and assist through three games in 2022
- The Owls will face Marist University on Saturday at 7 pm before returning home to begin AAC play against USF on Sept. 16
