 – The FAU softball team will take on SIUE on Tuesday, March 8. Game time is set for noon. The Owls enter at 10-13 on the season, while the Cougars stand at 6-9.

FAU took a 2-0 win over Illinois State last time out this past Sunday. The victory was the sixth for the Owls by taking the lead in the sixth inning or later this season.

The game was scoreless through five and a half innings until
Sara Berthiaume got the first run in with an RBI base hit through the left side.
Myah Murray then drove in the insurance run with a base hit to center field. The two runs gave
Lynn Gardner the win, who threw her third complete game shutout of the season.

Berthiaume is the Owls' leading hitter this season, hitting an even .400, which ranks her ninth among all players in Conference USA. The junior outfielder is riding a career-high nine game hitting streak and hit her first home run of the season against Purdue this past Friday.

In the defeat against Delaware, both
Sommer Baker and
Olivia Peterson hit their first career home run. In the seventh inning, Peterson went deep down the right field line, then Baker blasted a two-run shot two batters later. The Owls have now hit five home runs this season.

The Owls will open Conference USA play this weekend with a home series against Louisiana Tech. The three-game set will begin Friday, March 11 at 6:00 p.m.
