BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University baseball team (13-4) is riding a seven-game winning streak and will look to keep the momentum going with a midweek home contest against North Dakota State, on Tuesday. The Owls are coming off their third-straight series win after sweeping Sacred Heart University over the weekend.
The Owls' offense has been scorching lately, scoring 10 or more runs in five of the last seven games and nine runs in the other two. The pitching has been solid as well, allowing just four earned runs in the three games against SHU.
All fans will receive a special St. Patrick's Day Beach Ball and the merchandise truck will be selling limited edition green FAU hats for 20% off.
The Owls have won seven straight and 11 of the last 12. In the weekend sweep of Sacred Heart, sophomore outfielder
Gabriel Rincones, Jr. went 6-for-12 at the plate with four RBI and four runs scored. Rincones leads the Owls with 27 RBI on the season.
Dylan Goldstein chipped in with five RBI, including a grand slam, in Sunday's 11-1 rout. He's driven in nine runs in the last four games.
Peter Brookshaw leads NDS with a .333 average. He is one of three players hitting over .300. Brookshaw, along with Jack Simonsen and Logan Williams, all have two homers each. Brookshaw and Williams are tied for the team lead with nine runs driven in. On the pitching side, Ben Smith is expected to make his fourth start. He went four innings and allowed one run in his last start on March 8 against Minnesota.
