Opening Weekend
The Owls went 1-3 at the FAU First-Pitch Classic on opening weekend but finished on a high note. Trailing 3-2 late against Northern Illinois, FAU found a rally. In the bottom of the sixth inning,
Maddie Carlock scored on an error, then
Olivia Peterson delivered a go-ahead base hit to right field to give the Owls a 4-3 edge.
Gabby Sacco earned her first collegiate win in the circle, going four shutout innings in relief.

Strong Start
Lynn Gardner enjoyed a solid weekend both in the circle and at the plate. The senior pitched to a 3.39 ERA in 10.1 innings with 12 strikeouts. At the dish, Gardner went 3-7 (.429) with a home run and five RBIs.
Sara Berthiaume had a strong weekend at the leadoff spot, batting an even .500 (6-12) with two runs and an RBI.
The Path to 1,000
FAU is on the hunt to propel head coach
Joan Joyce over the 1,000-win plateau for her career. Joyce is 14 wins shy of becoming the 25
th coach in NCAA Division I history to reach 1,000 wins.
