FAIRFAX, Va. – The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed the second of three days at the Patriot Invitational, hosted by George Mason, on Friday. Momentum from day one's strong start carried into day two, with school records continuing to be broken. The Owls on the men's side are still in first place out of six teams with 743 points while the women's side climbed to second place with 586 points.

Men
- Through two days, the men stand in first place with 743 points
- The Owls set a school relay record for the second night in a row, this time in the 200 medley relay. The 'A' squad (Jake Bair, Luke Beals, Dalton Lillibridge, Peter Tanner Jr.) set the new mark with a time of 1:28.97
- The 200 free was a sweep of the top three for the Owls. Timo Paisley (1:38.34) finished first, followed by Jackson Kirk (1:38.34) and Logan Thornsberry (1:38.88)
- David Arneskov earned the gold in the 400 IM (3:53.44)
- In the 100 back preliminaries, Beals set a new FAU freshman record with a time of 49.24. He followed it up with a strong performance in the finals, finishing in second place with a time of 49.36
- Maximiliano Ahumada placed in third in the 100 back finals (49.67)
- Lillibridge earned second place in the 100 breast (54.08). Alec Peckmann was the next Owl to follow, swimming to a fifth place finish (55.50)
- Peckmann tallied third place in the 100 fly (48.71), with Bair closely behind in fifth (49.59)
- Brandon Shepherd took fifth place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 232.30
- The Owls concluded the evening with both the 'A' and 'B' squad finishing in first and second place, respectively, in the 800 free. Kirk, Paisley, Alec Peckmann, and Thornsberry tallied a time of 6:36.50 while Ahumada, Arneskov, Nick Shaffer, and Cameron Speed finished with a time of 6:37.78Â
Women
- The women's side is inches away from the top spot. They currently place in second with 586 points, only six points behind the leading George Mason.
- The Owls earned both the gold and the silver in the 400 IM. Riley Trout swam to first with a time of 4:25.50, followed closely behind by Roberta Circi with a time of 4:26.68
- In the 3-meter dive, Selina Staudenherz made her mark. She finished in second with a score of 227.85
- The 200 free finals were an FAU showcase. Maggie Casey placed in second with a time of 1:50.91, followed by Kasia Szlek in third (1:51.09) and Kirsten Hobson in fifth (1:52.84)
- Amelia Robertson finished in third place in the 100 back (55.04). Right behind her was Circi (55.46)
- In the 800 free relay, the 'A' squad (Casey, Hobson, Dolores Margni, Szlek) finished in second with a time of 7:31.62

The Owls will look to close out with a bang on the third and final day of the Patriot Invitational. The preliminaries are set to begin at 10 a.m. tomorrow, followed by the final events beginning at 6 p.m.
