BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic volleyball team (13-12, 3-10 C-USA) will head to Miami for the Owls' regular season finale on Saturday, Nov. 12. First serve is set for noon inside the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
- FAU enters Saturday's match at 13-12 overall and 3-10 in Conference USA play.
- Head coach Fernanda Nelson is in her 11th season leading the Owls and has amassed a 152-138 record throughout her time in Boca Raton.
- As a team, the Owls rank third in C-USA total assists (1,142), assists per set (12.55), kills per set (13.26), and attacks per set (34.97).
- FAU is led by sophomores Valeria Rosado, Katelynn Robine, and Klara Zarnovicka who have registered 3.31, 2.94, and 2.62 kills per set, respectively. Rosado's team-leading kills per set also ranks her sixth in Conference USA.
- Fellow sophomore and Owls' setter Noelle Stephens has dished out a team-leading 815 assists, averaging 8.96 per set, and has helped the Owls to a .224 attack percentage as a team this season.
- Senior Camryn Vogler anchors the Owls' backline, collecting 329 digs and averaging 3.62 per set, while Rosado has tallied a team second-best 223 digs and averages 2.45 per set.
- Senior Lauryn Green and junior Alicia Hearn lead FAU at the net, posting 0.85 and 0.81 blocks per set, respectively. Green has posted a team-best 72 total blocks this season.
- FAU fell short in the opening two sets, 18-25, 15-25, before rallying against the 49ers to take set three, 25-18, but Charlotte eventually took the four-set victory after capturing the fourth and final set, 16-25.
- FIU enters this weekend at 7-20 overall and 4-9 in C-USA play.
- The Panthers are in their first year under head coach Cristina Robertson, who has led the Panthers to a 7-20 record this season.
- As a team, the Panthers are hitting .170 and average 11.9 kills per set and 10.9 assists per set. Defensively, the Panthers average 14.4 digs per set and 1.6 blocks per set this season.
- FIU is led by Emily Meyer and Athina Dimitriadis on the attack. Meyer paces the team with 3.09 kills per set, while hitting a .178 clip. Dimitriadis leads the Panthers with a team-best .280 attack percentage, while averaging a team second-best 2.50 kills per set.
- FIU uses a pair of setters in Sarah Nading and Camila De La Rosa, who average 8.73 and 8.13 assists per set each, respectively.
- Defensively, FIU is anchored by libero Katie Turner, who has posted a team-leading 4.75 digs per set. At the net, Dimitriadis and Alyssa Wissinger are the Panthers blocking leaders, tallying 79 (0.78 per set) and 73 (0.72 per set) on the season, respectively.
FIU leads the all-time series 36-31 between the two programs, including a slight 17-14 edge for games played in Miami. In the last meeting between the Owls and the Panthers, FIU took a tight five-set match two weeks ago on Friday, Oct. 28 at FAU Arena.
