Women’s Soccer to Host Annual Stadium Game on Aug. 12

BOCA RATON, Fla. – For the ninth time in program history, Florida Atlantic women's soccer will open its season on Howard Schnellenberger Field at Flagler Credit Union Stadium, as the team's 2026 campaign will kick off in two weeks' time.
On Wednesday, Aug. 12, the Owls will host FIU at 7 p.m. at the on-campus stadium in Boca Raton. The women's soccer season has started on Schnellenberger Field every year since 2021, and prior to that, from 2016-18.
"We are honored to start the 2026 fall campaign in Flagler Credit Union Stadium again this year," said Head Coach Patrick Baker. "We thank our administration for continuing to allow our team to open each year in this beautiful venue. The local community does a wonderful job of coming and supporting the first FAU athletic event of the school year, and we're again looking forward to a great atmosphere in Paradise on Aug. 12."
In addition to women's soccer hosting nine games on the pitch, the stadium was also the site of the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's College Cup – the national semifinals and championship rounds. More recently, in June, the stadium was also the home base and training site for the Curaçao Men's National Team during its FIFA World Cup debut.
Pre-sale tickets are available for $12 including fees online HERE, while attendees 12 and under can purchase $5 tickets by calling 1-866-FAU-OWLS or on game night at the stadium gates. For group tickets or further questions, fans can also call 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
Fans will also have the opportunity to win four tickets to see Inter Miami CF and Lionel Messi play at Nu Stadium at Miami Freedom Park this fall. One lucky winner will be announced at the stadium game and must be present to win. To enter, check in at the marketing table prior to the game to have a chance to see one of the greatest soccer players of all-time take the pitch.
Gates will open at 6 p.m. so that fans can participate in games and activities before kickoff. There will also be postgame autographs. Parking for the stadium game will be in Lot 5, just north of the stadium.
