BOCA RATON, Fla. – Fresh off the team's Opening Night victory, Florida Atlantic University women's soccer heads south next, Sunday at 6 p.m., taking on Miami in Coral Gables.
Owls' Opener in Review
The Owls shut out Oakland and saw many offensive stars in a 3-0 Thursday night win.
Bri Austin had a goal and an assist,
Mia Sennes two helpers, and goals also came via
Molly Setsma and
Kaylin Johnston (and assists also by
Fabiola Menendez and
Hunter Koziara). The FAU defense limited the Golden Grizzlies to just two shots, and only one on goal.
Owls' Sunday in Preview
For Miami, Sunday will be their season opener, after a 2020-21 campaign that spanned both the fall and spring and ended with a 1-11-1 mark. That included a 1-0 loss to the Owls in Boca Raton this past February, with
Miracle Porter notching the game-winner.
Opponent History
The series is in favor of Miami, 9-8, with FAU trimming the deficit by winning the last two and four of the last six. Last time in Coral Gables, it was a 2-1 Owl victory in 2019.
