MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Florida Atlantic University track & field team put a wrap to the 2020-21 Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday.
Jessica Lambert captured the bronze medal in the 800 meters, as the Owls finished the weekend in 12th place with 15 points.
- Anaiis Scheeres cleared 1.60m in the high jump to tie for 12th. Her mark was a personal record in outdoor season and is tied for the fifth best in school history
- Lambert earned the bronze in the 800 meters with her time of 2:09.60, which marked a new personal record in outdoor season and remains as the third fastest time in program history
- Madlen Kappeler led the distance crew in the 5000 meters with a time of 17:44.93. In her third race of the weekend, Lauren Macon captured 29th (18:40.73), while Paige Saiz followed in 31st (18:47.22)
- The 4x400 meter relay wrapped up the weekend on a high note with fourth place in the event. Cara Simpson, Roshelle Francois, Madison King and Lambert earned the team a big five points with a time of 3:45.48
The Owls will have to wait and see if their times qualify for the first round of the NCAA Championships.
