Owls and Panthers Now to Tangle in Boca

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University baseball team and FIU match up for the second straight weekend set, beginning Friday night in Boca Raton, after the Owls took three of four from the Panthers on the road last weekend.

Owls' Weekend in Review
The Owls (21-19, 10-10 Conference USA) hit .341 in the series, outscoring the Panthers, 40-26. Six different hitters tallied a total of eight home runs, and Steven Loden and Mitchell Hartigan each had nine hits, combining to hit .563 (18-for-32), with seven extra base hits, 17 runs scored and nine RBI.

Owls' Weekend in Preview
FIU (16-24, 7-13 C-USA) was led by Justin Farmer and Adrian Figueroa in the set, batting .500 and .444, respectively. Farmer knocked in eight runs and Figueroa four. Derek Cartaya recorded the first two home runs of his collegiate career, but was held to 2-for-12 hitting otherwise. The Owls also pinned just the second loss of the season on Tyler Myrick, touching him for five runs on six hits in just four innings of work.
