BOCA RATON, Fla. – The 11th-ranked Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team will host its final home event of the year, the FAU Sandy Owls Invitational, Friday through Saturday at the FAU Beach Volleyball Complex.Â
FAU comes into this event having won seven of its last eight games, including all four at last week's FIU Surf & Turf Invitational.The Owls are 11-5 on the season and own their highest national rank ever.Â
"Coming off a 4-0 weekend, we are fired up to play at home again," FAU coach Capri Grotowski said. "We are hoping to continue our winning streak in Paradise. The Sandy Owls will have to stay focused and play our best as we face tough teams this weekend."
On Friday, FAU will play UNF and Tampa at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively. The Owls will battle FGCU at 1 p.m. and Palm Beach Atlantic at 5 p.m. on Saturday. A win against FGCU would mark FAU's third straight in the series.
