SOUTH BEACH, Fla. – For the first time this season, the 12
th-ranked Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team earned a 4-0 sweep over its tournament competition. A day after beating No. 20 Tulane and No. 13 FIU, the Owls took down FGCU and Tampa at the FIU Surf & Turf Invitational.
FAU has now won seven of its last eight games, improving its record to 11-5. The only loss the surging Owls incurred during their win-streak was to the No. 1-ranked and undefeated FSU Seminoles.
Erica Brok and
Mackenzie Morris, who comprise the reigning AVCA and CCSA Pair of the Week, went 4-0 at the Surf & Turf and made program history while doing so. They both reached 66 career individual wins, tying Gabrielle Dischler's FAU record of 66. The Brok/Morris pair is on a nine-match win streak.
Ellie Austin and
Kenley Adams are riding a hot streak of their own. The pair has won six straight, with four of those coming in two sets. Â Â
