BOCA RATON, Fla. – Sunday afternoon's double header between host Florida Atlantic University softball and No. 20 UCF proved to be just as entertaining as Saturday's, as all three games featured fantastic pitching. Despite the Owls' pitching efforts, FAU (5-18) fell to UCF (16-3) 5-0 in game one and 4-0 in game two.
The two teams were scoreless and looking for a hit through two innings. UCF scored twice in the third and added an additional run in the fourth. as well as two in the seventh. The Owl pitchers scattered 13 hits in the game and used a stingy defense to keep the Knights in check.

The final line of the second game almost mirrored the first. Only FAU's Sara Berthiaume opened FAU's attack with a leadoff single. UCF tallied four runs on 10 hits and held FAU to just two hits.
Joyce's Take
"They [UCF] were a good team and we knew that coming in," said Joan Joyce, FAU's head coach. "I thought that we played very well against them. Our pitchers did very well against that team. My pitchers threw great this weekend… I think it is coming together."How it Happened
