BOCA RATON, Fla. – A Miracle Porter second half equalizer, and shutout soccer the remainder of regulation and both overtime periods, meant a 1-1 tie for Florida Atlantic University women's soccer on Friday night in a Conference USA matchup against WKU.
 The Beginning:
Neither team came away with a goal in the first half, and off a corner midway through the second, the Lady Toppers (4-1-1, 2-0-1 C-USA) earned a 1-0 lead.
 The Turning Point:
Porter's give-and-go with Ashley Grisley allowed the FAU (2-2-2, 1-0-1 C-USA) striker to put WKU's backline on their heels, and she slotted past the keeper left to tie things up.
 The Finish:
After the tying goal, the Owls' best looks in regulation were two shots by Gi Krstec, one saved and one high of the goal. Each team had a shot in overtime, and in the second extra period, with seconds remaining, Porter got a step on the WKU defense, but her attempt was wide right.
 Notables:
Porter now has two goals on the season. For Grisley, it was her first career assist
Porter and Krstec had four shots each, of the Owls' 10. Sharpless had the other two
Quotable:
"We had no numbers, like we normally would," said head coach Patrick Baker, "and we were just getting great effort from the numbers that we had, even though it wasn't a lot. Based on all those elements, (WKU) came in 2-0 (in C-USA), flying high, we needed to at least get something out of tonight. I told the girls, it almost feels like a win, with only having 14 players."
Â
"I'm really proud of my team, to come back from being down by a goal, and just the work/effort that everyone put in, I just couldn't more proud of everybody," said Grissom. "Couldn't be happier, we got the point, and that's going to get us ahead to get us (towards) the conference tournament."
