FAIRFAX, Va. – The FAU swimming & diving team made program history this weekend at the Patriot Invitational hosted by George Mason. FAU completed an outstanding meet in splendid fashion, as the men's team captured first place with 924 points to win the midseason meet for the first time in FAU history. The men were well ahead of Delaware, who took second with 771 points. The FAU women's team tied its best Patriot Invitational finish in program history with a second-place finish at 709 points.

Peckmann capped off his superb weekend by breaking the school record in the 100 IM (49.22). Peckmann topped his previous program record of 50.35, which he set earlier this season.
Hussein broke another school record on Saturday's final session. Hussein bested his own mark in the 200 fly with a time of 1:45.01, beating his old record of 1:45.74 to capture first place. Hussein also set the school record in the 100 fly on Friday.
Riley Trout set a new FAU freshman record in the 200 back, touching the wall at 1:58.94. That effort was good for second place in the finals of tonight's session.

The Owls will return to competition after the New Year, with the next meet taking place at home against Army and Old Dominion Jan. 1.

Record-Breaking Owls
The FAU men's 400 free relay team of Alec Peckmann, Rateb Hussein, Maximiliano Ahumada, and Jackson Kirk broke the school record with a time of 2:58.57. That time also set a new Patriot Invitational meet record.Peckmann capped off his superb weekend by breaking the school record in the 100 IM (49.22). - Timo Paisley swam to a second-place finish in the 1,650 free (15:40.93)
- Cameron Speed placed fifth in the 1,650 free (16:02.95)
- Lauren Wright claimed eighth place in the 200 back (2:05.86)
- Kyle Douglas put forward a second-place effort in the 200 back (1:47.14), while Taylor Eaton and Ahumada were right behind in third and fourth (1:48.91 & 1:48.96), while Garrett Stanley took sixth (1:52.09)
- Maggie Casey took seventh place in the 100 free (51.58)
- Brett Reason swam to fourth place in the 100 free (45.82)
- In the 200 breast, Nika Culina captured third place (2:16.61), while Hailee Trotter took fourth (2:19.29)
- Nick Shaffer swam to seventh in the 200 breast (2:05.91)
- Dolores Margni took second in the 200 fly (2:00.57)
- Molly Jordan placed seventh (2:05.05) in the 200 fly, while Hannah Garner captured eighth (2:05.55)
