BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete at the NCAA South Regional race Friday morning at the John Hunt Cross Country Course in Huntsville, Alabama. The women's 6K race is set for 8:30 a.m. and the men's 10K will follow at 9:30 a.m. (both times Eastern).

North Alabama is hosting the race in partnership with the Huntsville Sports Commission and the City of Huntsville. On the women's side, there are 259 entries among 39 teams, while the men have 249 competitors with 29 teams present.

Women
- The women's team placed ninth out of 13 teams with a score of 234, just seven points behind eighth-place UAB
- Madlen Kappeler led the Owls with 21st place (21:58.5) out of 98 runners to be named to the All-C-USA Third Team. This marked the third consecutive year she was named to the All-Conference Team
- Jordan Stevens tallied 50th place (23:11.4), while Casey O'Connor followed in 53rd with a personal record time of 23:16.7
Men
- The men's team finished in 11th with 325 points
- Preston Dunn was the top Owl finisher for the fourth consecutive race by clocking in at 26:30.7 for 46th place out of 85 racers
- Bodey Miller logged 78th place with a personal record of 28:16.1 and Jericho Cooey finished in 79th (28:35.2)

The NCAA South Regional will put a cap to the 2021 cross country season. The indoor and outdoor track & field schedule will be announced soon.
