BOCA RATON, Fla. – Kasia Szlek of the FAU swimming & diving team has received C-USA Swimmer of the Week honors, as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon. The award is the first of Szlek's career.
Szlek was victorious in every race she competed in during FAU's 172-89 win over Keiser. She began her afternoon by winning the 200 free (1:54.36) as well as the 100 free (53.67). The freshman then took home the 500 free (5:07.19) before finishing the day strong as part of FAU's first-place 400 free relay team (3:36.16).
Szlek owns the fourth-fastest C-USA time this season in the 500 free (5:07.08), while also ranking fifth in the 200 free (1:54.36).
Szlek and the Owls will return to the pool for a home scrimmage against Princeton on Oct. 22.
